Two dominant players in Ma'Kyi Butler and Sullie Crider are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Grace Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grace Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Northside Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
Even though Freedom Christian Academy scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Grace Christian still came out on top. Grace Christian took their match against Freedom Christian Academy 73-66.
Grace Christian can attribute much of their success to Nate Jones, who scored 18 points, and Butler, who scored 20 points. The match was Butler's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Zimmerman, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Northside Christian Academy might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Ben Lippen an easy 74-54 win. Northside Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-24.
Despite the loss, Northside Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Luke Bohnsack scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Crider was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Grace Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Northside Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Grace Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 64.8 points per game. It's a different story for Northside Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 65.8 points per game.
