Even though the Zephyrhills Bulldogs scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, the Springstead Eagles still came out on top. Springstead snuck past the Bulldogs with a 61-57 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Springstead.
It was another big night for Nick Cordero, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sayre, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Springstead's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Zephyrhills, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
Springstead will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Mitchell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Zephyrhills, they will take on the Royal Knights at TBD on Tuesday. River Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 305th).
