North Schuylkill is 9-1 against Pottsville since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Crimson Tide at 4:30 p.m. North Schuylkill is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
North Schuylkill had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on Friday. The Spartans blew past the Red Raiders 8-1. Considering the Spartans have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Olivia Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Monica Selgrade was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Maria Monahan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
North Schuylkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of Lourdes Regional only posted a batting average of .160.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Pottsville was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Blue Mountain, falling 12-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Crimson Tide in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Jes Siminitus was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
North Schuylkill pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Pottsville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
North Schuylkill took their win against Pottsville when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
