Last Saturday, Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama was fully in charge, breezing past Gowanda/Pine Valley Central 56-12 at home. Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama pushed the score to 50-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Gowanda/Pine Valley Central had no chance of recovering from.
Bryce Posker and Tate Catanese were among the main playmakers for Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama as the former rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries and the latter threw for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Catanese is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Bryce Hinsdale also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Franklinville/Ellicottville put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over Kennedy. Given Franklinville/Ellicottville's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Kennedy is ranked 527th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points per game. As for Franklinville/Ellicottville, their victory on Saturday also bumped their record up to 7-0.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama skirted past Franklinville/Ellicottville 22-20 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
