The Mars Fightin' Planets managed to keep up with the Moon Area Tigers until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Mars suffered a rough 79-58 loss at the hands of Moon Area. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Sunday (57), Mars still had to take the loss.
Mars lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Ceh, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Ceh hasn't dropped below 15points for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Detisch, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Mars' loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Moon Area, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mars will square off against Montour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montour will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Moon Area, they will head out on the road to face off against South Fayette at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
