Baseball Recap: Stevenson Has No Trouble Against Glenn

Stevenson got themselves on the board against Glenn on Wednesday, but Glenn never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Christian Lang, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Nate Patterson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Stevenson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Stevenson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-14-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Glenn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-21.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stevenson will venture away from home to square off against Garden City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glenn, they are taking a road trip to take on Ecorse at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
