The Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars's 18-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 76-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boca Raton. While losing is never fun, Somerset Academy - Canyons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Boca Raton is ranked 30th).
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alana Pinnock, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals. Pinnock is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanna Fabrini, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Somerset Academy - Canyons and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Boca Raton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Somerset Academy - Canyons' road trip will continue as they head out to face Seminole Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Boca Raton, they will be playing at home against Nazareth at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
