Softball Recap: Kennedy Wins Going Away Against Lindblom

Kennedy won the last time they faced Lindblom and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Ilanni Reyes tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Kennedy got a massive performance out of Gisella Lopez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Lopez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Gregory, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Kennedy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Lindblom, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Kennedy has already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park on the 24th. Lindblom has also already played their next match (against Curie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
