With a playoff win on the line, Rancho Mirage rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They skirted past the Lincoln Hornets 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Rattlers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Anelisa Garcia made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Amiah Olvera was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Lilian Rocha was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Rancho Mirage's record is now 20-10. As for Lincoln, they moved to 20-12 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Rancho Mirage nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
