The Leon Lions's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Maclay 40-10 at home. The win was just what Leon needed coming off of a 63-28 loss in their prior match.
Tanner Owens had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aneila Pierre, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Leon's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Maclay, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Leon will be playing in front of their home fans against Rickards at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rickards is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games. As for Maclay, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Munroe at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Munroe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Wednesday.
