Two dominant forwards in Alonna Poole and Cameron Bryan are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Oakland Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Green Hill Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakland is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Last Tuesday, Oakland humbled Riverdale with a 67-31 victory. Given Oakland's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Riverdale is ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Poole continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Kyla Joy, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Green Hill earned a 55-47 win over Gallatin on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Green Hill.
Oakland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Green Hill, the win got them back to even at 13-13.
Everything went Oakland's way against Green Hill in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as Oakland made off with a 53-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
