The Indian Springs Thunderbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Tonopah Muckers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Indian Springs is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Indian Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-34 to Round Mountain.
Meanwhile, Tonopah was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 37-31 to Round Mountain. Tonopah has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Indian Springs bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Tonopah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Indian Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Tonopah in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, winning 43-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Indian Springs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
