The West Washington Senators suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 58-31 loss at the hands of Borden. While losing is never fun, West Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Borden is ranked 35th).
Despite the loss, West Washington had strong showings from Meredith Deaton, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Jayla Batt, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Lilly Thompson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
West Washington has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Borden, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Washington will take on Paoli at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paoli has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Borden, they will play host again and welcome Springs Valley, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Springs Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
