The Bogue Chitto Bobcats will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Wesson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Bogue Chitto's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Wesson has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Bogue Chitto pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Franklin County by a score of 60-57. The loss put an end to Bogue Chitto's undefeated start to the season.
Meanwhile, Wesson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against West Lincoln on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 45-41 victory.
Wesson's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kemari Brown, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds, and Omari Johnson, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Austin Johnson, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Bogue Chitto to 7-1 and Franklin County to 5-5.
Bogue Chitto took their win against Wesson when the teams last played back in November by a conclusive 58-33. Does Bogue Chitto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wesson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
