Mt. Clemens and the Navigators are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Henry Ford Academy Navigators at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Mt. Clemens' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Navigators have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Friday, Mt. Clemens was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-32 to the Cougars.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Leah Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Le'ila Sears, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Henry Ford Academy lost to the at home by a decisive 50-31 margin two weeks ago.
Mt. Clemens' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Henry Ford Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Everything came up roses for Mt. Clemens against the Navigators in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 46-8 win. Does Mt. Clemens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Navigators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
