The Dalton Tigers will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Hopkins Hilltoppers at 1:00 p.m. on October 21st. Dalton will be strutting in after a win while Hopkins will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Dalton beat King 14-3.
James M continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 262 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. M was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.
Meanwhile, Hopkins fell victim to Rye Country Day's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Wildcats 30-0.
Dalton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Montclair Kimberley Academy and 1-5 King (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 23.3% over those games). Hopkins has not been sharp this season, as they've lost five of their first six games, which leaves them at a 1-5 record this season.
