Clayton waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-44 W against the Willow Spring Storm. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-58 last Saturday.

Willow Spring's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Williams, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. Grant Overman was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight boards and four blocks.

Clayton's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Willow Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 15-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton will venture away from home to square off against Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cleveland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Willow Spring, they are taking a road trip to face off against Southeast Raleigh at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
