The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings weren't able to make up for their defeat to the Williamsburg Raiders from their previous meeting last month. On Tuesday, Vinton-Shellsburg lost to Williamsburg on the road by a decisive 43-30 margin. That's the fewest points the Vikings have scored all year.
The loss dropped Vinton-Shellsburg's record to 6-11. The victory bumped Williamsburg's record up to 15-9.
Vinton-Shellsburg is on the road again on Friday and plays against West Delaware. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close contest. As for Williamsburg, they will go up against Maquoketa on Friday. Williamsburg won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
