Pecatonica hasn't had much luck against Forreston recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Forreston took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pecatonica, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Pecatonica turned things around against West Carroll on Friday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Thunder. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Maren Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Ellie Bolen was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sammy Abate was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Pecatonica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Forreston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Eastland, falling 17-7. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly ten runs.
Caroline Bawinkel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Kiper, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Forreston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pecatonica, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pecatonica has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Forreston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pecatonica might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Forreston when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
