There's no place like home for Laguna Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sheldon Huskies a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

David Romero looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Laguna Creek is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Laguna Creek got a big performance out of Tyger Peterson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Peterson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Stires, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Laguna Creek hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Laguna Creek has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Sheldon, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Laguna Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
