After a string of nine wins, the SkyView Academy Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 62-44 fall against Heritage Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points SkyView Academy has scored all season.
Defeat or not, SkyView Academy got some senior leadership from Ty Coberly and Kyle Cosart. Coberly scored 12 points along with two steals, while Cosart. scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Dove, who scored 11 points.
Heritage Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nehemiah Baldwin, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Raul Bertinato was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
SkyView Academy's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for Heritage Christian, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. SkyView Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Front Range Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. SkyView Academy is facing Front Range Christian at the right time seeing as Front Range Christian is stuck on a 11-game losing streak. As for Heritage Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilpin County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 615 points over their last nine matchups.
