Le Grand and Gustine are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Le Grand Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Gustine Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Le Grand suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Thursday. Their tough 70-49 loss to Orestimba might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Le Grand can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1341st, while Orestimba is ranked 352nd).
Meanwhile, Gustine's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Orestimba 74-30. Gustine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-7.
Le Grand has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Gustine, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
Things could have been worse for Le Grand, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-38 loss to Gustine when the teams last played on January 3rd. Can Le Grand avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
