Softball Recap: Fillmore Wins Going Away Against Andover

Fillmore won the last time they faced Andover and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mylee Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Morghyn Ross was incredible, going 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Earley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Fillmore is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Andover, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coincidentally, Fillmore and Andover will both be playing Cuba-Rushford the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
