Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is South Lafourche's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

While South Lafourche didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Hanson Memorial Tigers on Tuesday by a score of 6-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was payback for the Tarpons, who suffered a 9-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kooper Worley was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Pierce, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

South Lafourche is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.25 hits in those games compared to only five in the others. Hanson Memorial's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7-1.

Coming up, South Lafourche will head out to take on Salmen at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Lafourche is facing Salmen at the right time seeing as Salmen is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hanson Memorial, they will be playing at home against Central Lafourche at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
