The Big Spring Steers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-36 to Snyder. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Big Spring in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.
Snyder's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayci Medrano, who scored nine points along with six steals and five assists. Medrano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Iverie Castillon, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Big Spring has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-24 record this season. As for Snyder, their victory bumped their record up to 14-17.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sweetwater the next time they take the court. Snyder will head out to face Sweetwater at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Big Spring will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
