The Fulshear Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Manvel Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fulshear knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Manvel likes a good challenge.
Fulshear can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 66-0 win over Fort Bend Kempner on the road. Given Fulshear's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Fort Bend Kempner is ranked 899th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Davion Godley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 165 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Godley hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Broadway ii, who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Manvel after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Magnolia who ended up claiming the real prize. Manvel took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Magnolia.
Even if they lost, Manvel's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Jalen Charles and his two sacks.
Fulshear's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Manvel, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Fulshear came out on top in a nail-biter against Manvel in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, sneaking past 9-7. Will Fulshear repeat their success, or does Manvel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
