The Brashear Tigers were the 57-37 winner over the Meadville Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Brashear fell 65-53 to Meadville on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Brashear came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Meadville is ranked 274th).
Meadville was led to victory by Gauge Shiflett and Reece Meyers. Shiflett scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds, while Meyers scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mason Dennis, who scored 13 points.
Brashear's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Meadville, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brashear will take on La Plata at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meadville, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Linn County at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
