If The MacArthur Highlanders were riding high off their 46-7 takedown of the El Reno Indians last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. MacArthur was outmatched by Elgin on the road and fell 62-14. MacArthur was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-0.
Elgin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Lund led the charge by rushing for 155 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Lund is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tres Lorah, who threw for 177 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Elgin, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
MacArthur will look to defend their home field on Friday against Noble at 7:00 p.m. As for Elgin, they will head out on the road to face off against Midwest City on Friday. Midwest City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 136 points over their last three matchups.
