The Nueva School is 7-0 against Pescadero since April of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Nueva School Mavericks will head out on the road to take on the Pescadero Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
The Nueva School pushed their score all the way to 69 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 95-69 loss to Summit Shasta might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for The Nueva School in their matchups with Summit Shasta: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Pescadero's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 56-33 loss at the hands of Design Tech. Pescadero was down 41-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
The Nueva School's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Pescadero, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything came up roses for The Nueva School against Pescadero in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 55-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for The Nueva School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
