Even though the Mays Raiders scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, the Tri-Cities Bulldogs still came out on top. Tri-Cities pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over the Raiders. The victory was nothing new for Tri-Cities as they're now sitting on three straight.
Tri-Cities found their leader in underclassman Tre Keith, who scored 25 points. Keith has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden London, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Mays lost, one person who can't be blamed is Derron Lindsey ii. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Lindsey ii hasn't dropped below 15 points for 14 straight games. Germani Wilson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Tri-Cities' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8. As for Mays, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.
Tri-Cities will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Midtown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th). As for Mays, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Chapel Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully the Raiders likes a good challenge.
