It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Hamilton Wildcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Booker T. Washington by a score of 85-77. The win was just what Hamilton needed coming off of a 75-53 loss in their prior contest.
Hamilton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timothy Matthews, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Matthews has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Devan McGee was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds.
Hamilton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Booker T. Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Memphis Business Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Booker T. Washington, they will head out on the road to take on Manassas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manassas is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
