Basketball Game Preview: Calvert Senecas vs. Woodmore Wildcats

Calvert has gone 3-0 against Woodmore recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Calvert Senecas will be playing at home against the Woodmore Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Calvert knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Woodmore likes a good challenge.

Calvert is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Lakota: they outscored them in every quarter. Calvert was the clear victor by a 66-44 margin over Lakota on Tuesday. The Senecas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Gavin Wagner was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Logan Ritzler was another key player, putting up ten points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woodmore duked it out withSt. Mary Central Catholic on Tuesday. Woodmore took down St. Mary Central Catholic 63-47. The Wildcats pushed the score to 49-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Calvert is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Woodmore, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Everything came up roses for Calvert against Woodmore in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 58-29 victory. Will Calvert repeat their success, or does Woodmore have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
