The El Dorado Golden Hawks won the last time they faced the Esperanza Aztecs, and things went their way on Thursday too. El Dorado took down the Aztecs 66-51. Given El Dorado's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Aztecs are ranked 721st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Dorado's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Barker, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Natividad, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Esperanza, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.
El Dorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Esperanza also has no future games currently scheduled.
