It was a good run, but The Eldorado Sundevils unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They and Sunrise Mountain were almost perfectly matched up, but Eldorado suffered an agonizing 36-35 loss. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (32), Eldorado still had to take the loss.
Eldorado's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jaeshawn West, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns. West is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Xavier Delgado also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Auhsoj Cunningham got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 269 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.8 yards per carry. Cunningham was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
Eldorado's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Sunrise Mountain, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Eldorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sunrise Mountain will take on Canyon Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Canyon Springs is ranked 30th, while Sunrise Mountain is ranked 36th).
