Baseball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sterling last Saturday, Austin came back down to earth. Austin lost 8-2 to the Milby Buffs on Tuesday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cameron Rubio was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Garcia, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Milby, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

While Austin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
