Despite the defeat, Troy saw an underclassman step up: Stetson Merritt scored 24 points. That was a full 47.1% of Troy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Legend Merritt was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Colonie Central pushed their record up to 18-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Troy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonie Central will take on Averill Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
