The Tempe Prep Knights suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Horizon Honors at home and fell 47-16. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tempe Prep in their matchups with Horizon Honors: they've now lost eight in a row.
Horizon Honors found their leader in underclassman Audriana Anglada, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Anglada continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Josie Barden was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Tempe Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Horizon Honors, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Tempe Prep will face off against Sequoia Pathway Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon Honors won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Arete Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. Arete Prep is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
