Blake has been on the road for six straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Paint Branch Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Blake has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 852 points over their last 13 contests.
Blake stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Damascus as Blake made off with a 75-53 win. Given Blake's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Hornets are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Paint Branch had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came out on top against Springbrook by a score of 52-44. That's two games straight that Paint Branch has won by exactly eight points.
Paint Branch's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jordan Horm, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Isaiah Lee, who scored 19 points. Horm has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Tientcheu, who scored six points along with two steals.
Blake's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Paint Branch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Blake beat the Panthers 57-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Blake repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
