Alliance is 1-9 against West Branch since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Alliance Aviators will head out on the road to take on the West Branch Warriors at 6:45 p.m. Alliance will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while West Branch is ranked 36th).
Alliance had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Carrollton on Wednesday and snuck past 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Alliance has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, West Branch entered their tilt with Marlington with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. West Branch took down Marlington 45-26 on Wednesday.
Alliance's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for West Branch, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Alliance might still be hurting after the 53-30 loss they got from West Branch when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Alliance avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
