West Scranton was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in Lackawanna 1. Earlier in the week, the Invaders defeated Valley View 29-14.
Scranton Prep extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Delaware Valley, 26-10. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Cavaliers.
Abington Heights's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. J.C. Show threw for 182 and 2 touchdowns and Nathan Hollander had 91 yards receiving. On the ground Quinn Karam chipped in 153 yards. Joe Carroll helped Abington Heights' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 42 yards.
Karam was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 153 yards as the Comets beat North Pocono. Perry Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
Abington Heights' Show and Hollander have formed a dream team this season, leading Lackawanna 1 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Show has thrown for 1,342 yards this season, while Hollander has 43 catches for 691 yards. Scranton's Jake McCarthy leads the league in rushing yards with 1,544.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Joe Repshis' team and the Knights face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Scranton takes on the Comets. At the moment, Mike Marichak's team is in third, while Abington Heights is in second.
Wallenpaupack Area fell to the Knights 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
