Lockwood took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Marionville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Comets on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Landry Ogden made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Roper Gray was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
Lockwood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Marionville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
