The Denver Waldorf Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flatirons Academy Bison at 5:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Denver Waldorf: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Flatirons Academy has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
Last Monday, Denver Waldorf earned a 24-16 win over Aurora West College Prep Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver Waldorf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalyn Stanley, who scored five points along with 15 rebounds and two steals. Stanley is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Q'Orianka Avant, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Flatirons Academy can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Mile High Academy on the road to the tune of 72-14. With Flatirons Academy ahead 40-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Denver Waldorf's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Flatirons Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
Denver Waldorf was taken down by Flatirons Academy 96-10 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Denver Waldorf was down 53-3.
