After flying high against the Cheraw Braves last Monday, the South Florence Bruins came back down to earth. South Florence took a hard 49-34 fall against North Myrtle Beach on Wednesday. South Florence was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Myrtle Beach apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
South Florence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Gamble, who scored ten points along with two steals. Gamble continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jada Montgomery, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
South Florence's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for North Myrtle Beach, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Florence will face off against West Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Myrtle Beach, they will head out on the road to square off against Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
