The Mooresville Blue Devils will look to defend their home field on Friday against the A.L. Brown Wonders at 7:00 p.m. Mooresville will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Mooresville put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 34-7 win over Lake Norman. With Mooresville ahead 20-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Mooresville found their leader in underclassman Brody Norman, who rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Marley Samuel got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, A.L. Brown made easy work of Concord on Friday and carried off a 27-7 win.
CJ Gray and Mekhi Herron were among the main playmakers for A.L. Brown as the former threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Mooresville's win was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points per game. As for A.L. Brown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Mooresville was able to grind out a solid win over A.L. Brown in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 30-20. Does Mooresville have another victory up their sleeve, or will A.L. Brown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
