After a string of four wins, the West Washington Senators's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The matchup between West Washington and Orleans wasn't particularly close, with West Washington falling 49-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Washington has scored all season.
West Washington's loss came despite strong showings from Jayla Batt and Meredith Deaton. Batt scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals, while Deaton scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Batt hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Orleans' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chelsea Ralph, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mylie Knight, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Washington's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Orleans, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
West Washington will take on Crothersville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crothersville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 390th, while West Washington is ranked 165th). As for Orleans, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Perry Central is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
