Mountain Valley recap Sept. 26, 2012
Rim of the World moved up to 226 from 448 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mountain Valley. A 62-19 win over Bishop helped the Fighting Scots improve their standing.
Jurupa Hills was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. The Spartans beat Bloomington 35-12 earlier in the week.
Damion Wright threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns. He was 10-17 with zero interceptions.
Zachary Kelvington was the best wideout in the league this week as Notre Dame fell to Aquinas. Kelvington racked up eight receptions for 87 yards. Dakota Mai helped Notre Dame's passing attack out by catching four balls for 59 yards.
Jacob Taylor was the most productive running back in Mountain Valley this week. He ran for 360 yards on 31 carries as Rim of the World lost to the Falcons. Teammate Jobani Barrios added to the ground attack by rushing for 55 yards.
Notre Dame's Paul Bradvica and Kelvington have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bradvica has thrown for 1064 yards this season, while Kelvington, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 20 catches for 287 yards. Sty Hairston from Banning leads the league in rushing with 1037 yards.
Bob Gradillas's team's Taylor is a mere 76 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 84 carries Taylor has accumulated 924 yard this year.
The Fighting Scots extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Broncos, 62-19. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
