The Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They really took it to Newton HomeSchool for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-18 win at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wichita Defenders HomeSchool also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rachel Graham, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds. Graham scored a full 44.4% of Newton HomeSchool's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win got Wichita Defenders HomeSchool back to even at 1-1. As for Newton HomeSchool, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wichita Defenders HomeSchool will challenge Reno County HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Reno County HomeSchool and Wichita Defenders HomeSchool are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Newton HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to face off against Tyro Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
