The Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions will take on the Western Wildcats in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024. They put the hurt on St. Thomas Aquinas with a sharp 12-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.

Ava Stevens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Brigitte Valdera was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jeneice Wright was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Western put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Pompano Beach as Western made off with a 15-4 victory. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Ali Solo made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Solo was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Hanna Turner and Madison Mejia did most of the damage at the plate: Turner scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Mejia scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Mejia also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gia Solano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Western, their record now sits at 7-0.
