Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Honaker couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the George Wythe Maroons by a score of 34-31 on Friday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their 27-game winning streak.

Honaker's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julianna Farmer, who posted ten points and six steals. Farmer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Carey Keene, who put up six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Honaker's loss dropped their record down to 28-2. As for George Wythe, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.

Honaker does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George Wythe, they will face off against Buffalo Gap at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Buffalo Gap's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
