The Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 54-17 loss at the hands of McKeel Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ridgeview Global Studies Academy has scored all season.
McKeel Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Anderson led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nicaria McHellon, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for McKeel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will take on Tenoroc at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McKeel Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Fe Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
